Life Chronology:
Rev. J. Wesley Day
China, Malaysia, Indonesia

Home Leave: 1967

1967 saw the Days travel from Medan to the United States for a part of a year, which included the opportunity to be present for their daughter's college graduation and their son's seminary graduation and ordination.

The ordination fortuitously incorporated the family's Methodist Protestant background. At the time of union in 1939, The Methodist Protestants, who did not have bishops, designated James Straughn to be ordained bishop. Bishop Straughn was present for the 1967 ordination, and participated in it, along with Bishop Straughn. Hands were laid on each ordinant by four clergy; in addition to the two bishops, Wesley Day and District Superintendant Raymond Roderick laid hands on son Jackson Day.

Wesley was also able to baptize his grandson James Wesley on this trip.
